SCHEGGINO liegt in einer priveligierten Position für den Besuch der historischen und naturalistischen Seite in Italien.
Es gibt Wanderwege, die im Tal am Fluss entlang führen oder in die benachbarten Berge. Die Wanderwege zeigen ganz hervorragend die Fauna und Flora der Region. Es ist auch von historischen Bedeutung durch die verschiedenen Abteien, Klöstern und im besonderen, die alte Orts Kirche deren Bau in dass Jahr 1200 v. C. zurück geht.
Es liegt im Zentrum von Umbrien, in einer Gegend mit Landwirtschaft im kleinen Stil, die eine Auswahl an Wein, Öl und Käse bieten. Besonders nennenswert sind die Schwarzen Trüffel die in den nahen Bergen gefunden werden.
Die Stadt besteht aus dem Klassischem „Borgo“ das jetzt komplett wieder erbaut wurde. Mit weniger als hundert dort lebenden Familien, ist es ein idyllisch kleines Städtchen mit einer materiellen und spirituellen Friedlichkeit.
